Wellness Rooms in Jordan District

Wellness Rooms are spaces for students to practice self-regulation and stress management in order to be better prepared to learn. The purpose of a student's wellness room visit is: Come to Calm, Return to Learn

Guiding Principles for Wellness Rooms

  • Students have opportunities for self-directed self-regulation
  • The space is available to all students (Tier 1)
  • Student’s time is limited, supervised, and non-punitive
  • The school community understands the purpose, role, and appropriate use of the space

District Support

In Jordan District, our Wellness Team supports Wellness Room implementation by:

  • Coordinating funds with Jordan Education Foundation (JEF) or other donors to get started or refresh existing rooms
  • Hosting a quarterly PLC with Wellness Room facilitators
  • Training students, staff, and community on Wellness Room use and implementation
  • Collecting data and analyzing reports
  • Consultation on best practices
